Hello and welcome back to my blog 

For this week in literacy we had to make an experiment about flight  

I chose to do an experiment to see how the weight effects how the plane flies .

I started by making a paper plane and seeing how far it flies then i added a paper clip to see if that would change how far it would fly . 

ASCII

Welcome back to my blog

This week we have been learning about Binary and ASCII. 

Binary is a number system that uses 1’s and 0’s to represent all of our normal set of numbers.  You can use the place values as multiples of 2 to work out how to do it for yourself! 

ASCII is set of encoded symbols that a computer uses to turn Binary into letters and other symbols from the English language (like what is on our keyboard).  I turned my initials into binary numbers, and then turned those binary numbers into an ASCII code!  Using colours to represent the 1’s and 0’s, my initials in ASCII can be represented by the pattern you see in my image below!

My Android

Hi bloggers
For literacy we have been reading the book hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
For our task this week we had to make an android out of materials we found around our house .
There were some materials we could use outside the school for us to use
This android took me a while to make because i had to paint all of it black .

Board game

For today's  task I made a board game
It is monopoly but  about river dale.
This took me a really long time to make but it was really fun and a good way to stay busy.

Online school

 welcome back to my blog
since we cant go back to school my school is doing online classes
for the online class we go on a video call and 9:00 and 2:30  .In the morning our teacher sets us some tasks to do throughout the day  One of my tasks for today was to make a schedule. Is there anything you think I could change to make it better . 
 here is mine

Literacy

The clock strikes seven  time for the beautiful beach 

Golden Sand shimmering is under the sun 

 The crabs were waiting for everyone in the water

I hear the waves crashing it's a peaceful sound  

 The sun is burning my skin because it’s so hot 

Ohh no My ice cream is melting 

It is so hot my skin feels like it is melting 

Everyone else has left the beach 

The water is warm it is almost too hot 

The clouds are starting to cover the sun 

The seagulls are being loud. It was an annoying sound 

I dip my toe into the clear water  

 I could see so many shells is the water

I love spending all my weekends at the beach 

I the sand is so hot it feels like it is melting 

I can feel a little breeze on my face but it is still too hot

I am about to fall asleep because there is no sound 

I need to put on sunscreen because of the hot  sun  

I love it when there is a breeze and the shining  sun 

The seagulls have come back and so has that annoying sound

There is only 1 person surfing at the beach 

Which is weird  because it is so hot 

It is so hard to resist I have to jump in the water

If i didn’t jump in i was so hot i would have been melting  

I felt like an ice cream I felt like I was Melting 

I am starting to get used to that annoying sound 

Not many people are at the beach 

Now that it is late it is starting to get colder so  i jump out the water 

The moon is coming up no which means that it is not time for the sun 

 the sun goes down the stars come up but still  scorching hot  

 The wind has finally come and it’s not so hot 

The moon is up and my skin has stopped melting 

The sharks are visible and everyone is out of the water 

Everyone is packing up and leaving the beach 

I am walking home home, sand under my feet such an annoying sound

The moon is fully up and now there is no such thing at the sun

Welcome back to my blog for literacy last week we have been writing poems about what ever we want I did mine about the beach first we did a brain storm and thought of 6 describing words that describe the beach . The only thing is that it has to be six sentences

and all the sentences had to end in one of the words you brainstormed .

It was really fun doing this you should try it .

My Menu

Hi readers
This week in literacy we have been learning about the different types of waste .To learn more about food waste we had to make a menu and had to try use everything and have no waste  some things you could do to have no waste is eat the leftover food the next day .Do you know how much food you throw away every week.

For literacy this week we have been reading a book called Boy Overboard. The book Boy Overboard is based in Afghanistan. Here is an image I have made. My image is about the food difference there and how the ground in Afghanistan is all damaged compared to NZ. I hope you know how lucky you are to live in a nice country!

This week I have created a picture of one of the main characters in the book Refugee, Josef's father, after he had jumped off the boat they were on. He was surrounded by sharks in the middle of the Atlantic ocean .
